Board president says library reopening Tuesday

The New Castle Public Library is scheduled to reopen to the public Tuesday morning with security measures in place.

The library closed Thursday at the order of its director, Andrew Henley, because of what he perceives to be potential threats against him and the staff by William Messner, head of the Constitution Party of Lawrence County.

Dennis McCurdy, president of the library board of directors, said Monday the board within in the past week hired Barry Wolfe of Argos Human Relations Solution LLC as a library consultant, not only to resolve the closure issue but “as a result of many facets that we need to correct.”
