After a slight delay from its originally planned reopening, the Allegheny YMCA is slated to welcome the public once more in early-tomid- March following a $26 million renovation that has reshaped the historic Northside building.
“We’re incredibly thankful to our local residents and neighbors for their patience and understanding throughout this renovation,” said Michele Charmello, executive director of the Allegheny YMCA.
After closing in February 2025, the YMCA has spent the past year transforming its wellness spaces, updating accessibility features and modernizing equipment. Renovations originally began with the goal of reopening in January of this year. However, delays in construction pushed that date back by two months.
